Bal Niketan Trust (Orphanage) is a social service organization established in 1926 by Swami Balanand Saraswati under the name Hindu Orphanage. The organization was founded with the aim of nurturing orphaned and destitute boys and girls, helping them become responsible citizens. Since its inception, the organization has been dedicated to achieving these objectives. Celebrating 99 years of service, the institution provides food, shelter, education, and efforts towards employment and rehabilitation for the admitted boys and girls.
In 1954, based on the suggestion of the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Kailash Nath Katju, the organization was renamed Bal Niketan. In 1970, it was registered under the Trust Act. Currently, boys and girls are admitted through the Women and Child Development Department of Madhya Pradesh and the Child Welfare Committee under it.
We aim to assist our children in every possible way until they reach adulthood, making sure they are prepared for a successful and independent future. We are dedicated to meeting our children's immediate needs and investing in their long-term success through education, health, and vocational training. Our programs are designed to offer a balanced development approach, ensuring the children in our care grow into capable, confident adults.
At Bal Niketan, our mission is to provide a nurturing environment for underprivileged children, ensuring they receive the care, education, and opportunities necessary to thrive. We offer a safe home, nutritious food, quality education, and emotional support. Our programs include skill development and extracurricular activities to help children explore their talents. We advocate for children's rights and work with the community to create a society where every child is valued. Our vision is a world where every child can lead a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life, breaking the cycle of poverty and neglect.
At Bal Niketan Trust, we celebrate a wide array of national and religious festivals with great enthusiasm, helping our children understand the cultural significance of each occasion. Key festivals like Ganesh Utsav, where a tableau of Lord Ganesha is a major highlight, along with Holi, Diwali, Rakshabandhan, and Janmashtami, are celebrated with vibrant festivities.
In addition to these cultural events, our children participate in various national observances and special programs such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Teacher's Day, Yoga Day, Children's Day, Janmashtami, Basant Panchami, and Rakshabandhan. These celebrations are enriched with performances and presentations by the children themselves, enhancing their confidence and public speaking skills.
Educational trips are organized annually, allowing children to explore tourist destinations and enjoy the natural environment while gaining educational insights. Moreover, our Higher Secondary School hosts several competitions that not only spotlight Indian traditions but also foster a competitive spirit among students.
A highlight of our extracurricular activities is the seven-day sports competition held on campus, where children enthusiastically participate, demonstrating their athletic skills and receiving awards and certificates for their achievements. Additionally, our students often compete in various city-wide competitions in Bhopal, showcasing their talents and representing our institution proudly.
